Jaynes Gastropub is proud to be the first Gastropub to open in San Diego and one of only a handful in existence across the entire US. The prefix Gastro comes from the word Gastronomy or the study of culture with food as its central axis. The UK definition is a public house or "pub" that serves gourmet food. Jayne Battle is in equal parts San Francisco bred food junkie and beer tipping scouser, so it seemed only right for Jayne to introduce the Gastropub to the yanks.
